July 6th - Doula Tip #6 - Record your mileage. If you use your car in your doula business it is likely that you drive a lot. Every interview, prenatal, labor and doula networking meeting should be recorded. This information will be very important when it comes time for taxes.
I use YourDoulaBiz to keep track of my mileage.
How do you track yours?
Anna Haag I just keep a tiny notebook in the car and have created a habit of resetting the odometer before I leave and writing in the date, the reason (in shorthand) for the trip, and the number of miles when I return. I put a little box around the number so that it's visually easy when I go back and tally all the miles. They really add up, so everyone should definitely use it to their advantage!
Jamie Brazel I print a mileage log I found online: http://
Rashell Rice I have an iPad app that tracks it and keeps pictures of gas receipts.
Amy DeGraw Peterson I currently do mine once a month by going through my calendar, and using google maps for the mileage.
Kim Kosut McNiece I do the calendar google map thing too.
